One fact never ceases to amaze me. I love thinking about it. It makes me feel so worthy.

All things -- as in every single thing you can see, touch, hear, feel and taste, and even those things that we can't see or in any other way physically sense -- were created by God and for God. By God. For God.

I am a created being. You are a created being. So, that means that both you and I were created by God and for God.

Jesus, however, the only begotten Son of God, was not created.

Jesus, in the beginning, was the Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word, Jesus, became flesh, so that He could sacrifice His life for God the Father, who loved us so much that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

God gave the only thing He had only one of for you, and for me. God did this so that we could be given the chance to know Him, intimately, as Jesus has always known Him. God gave His only begotten Son so that you and I could become reconciled to Him, so that we could become His children and He a father to us - for ever and ever. That's a long time.

When Jesus was alive in the flesh and on earth before He was crucified, He explained to us that God is our Abba Father - that God is His Daddy and that God is our Daddy, too. Abba is Greek and it translates to English as "Daddy." Jesus said when we pray to God that we should talk to Him, plainly, with real meaning, with deep trust and with sincere respect. You should talk to God like He is your Daddy because if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have accepted the price that only Jesus could pay as the only sinless person to ever live. Through Jesus, through his sinless life, through his seemingly unjust death, and through his resurrection, the price for our redemption was paid.

We are now able to be reconciled to our Father, to our Daddy.

Jesus also said you can trust that God hears you when we pray, and you can have faith that He will respond to you from His father’s heart.

Prayer should not ever smack of religion nor of ritual.

It should never be rehearsed.

It is you, a child, talking to his or her daddy - a daddy who is perfect, with perfect knowledge and perfect understanding.

Talk to your Daddy.

Tell him what is on your heart. Then, listen. He has only your best interest in His heart.

Like all good fathers, God is not going to give you everything you ask for. But, He will always give you what is best for you.
